How to Apply
Your lashes arrive ready to wear
Every Velvet cluster is pre-glued, so there is no lash glue to buy, no waiting for anything to get tacky and no mess to clean up. Your kit contains mixed-length clusters and a pair of precision tweezers. Here is the whole routine.
Step 1 — Start clean and dry
Your natural lashes need to be clean and completely dry. Skip mascara, eye cream and oil-based makeup remover beforehand, because anything oily stops the clusters gripping properly. This one step prevents most application problems.
Step 2 — Plan your placement first
Lay the clusters out before you pick anything up, and work from the outer corner inwards: the longest clusters at the outer edge, medium lengths through the middle, the shortest by the inner corner. This graduation is what creates a lifted, open shape instead of a flat strip.
Step 3 — Place from underneath
Pick up a cluster with the tweezers and slide it under your natural lash line, as close to the root as you can comfortably get without touching your eyelid. Underneath rather than on top is the detail that separates an obvious lash from one that simply looks like your own, better.
Step 4 — Press and set
Gently squeeze the cluster against your natural lashes for a few seconds. Repeat along the lash line until you are happy with the fullness, then press once more across the whole line to settle everything in place.
Taking them off
Never pull. Soften the bond first with warm water or an oil-based cleanser, give it a moment to loosen, then slide the clusters away from your natural lashes.
Keeping them looking their best
- Avoid oil-based products around the eye area while you are wearing them
- Pat the area dry rather than rubbing
- Store the tray closed and dry
